Learn to cope with the stress and challenges of modern life
Acem Meditation
reduces stress
- Deep relaxation and stress release
- Better concentration and health
- Personality development and self-exploration
Acem Meditation is a non-religious technique for relaxation, recreation and personal development. Acem Meditation is easy to learn, and involves the inner repetition of a simple sound. It is usually done 30 minutes twice a day, or 45 minutes once a day. Acem Meditation originated in Scandinavia, where medical doctors, psychologists and other experts have spent the last 40 years developing a psychology of meditation as well as courses and guidance based on modern teaching methods and group dynamics. This has increased the potency of meditation, with better effects for the practitioner.
Why Acem Meditation?
The pace and challenges of modern life may be rewarding. We get a sense of achievement when using our abilities. But we also pay a price for the hectic pace of modern life. Cramming everything into the week - work, hobbies, exams, studies, kids, relationships, commitments. There just doesn't seem to be time for them all - at least not for doing them the way we would really have wanted to. Sometimes you may feel you are on autopilot; something outside has taken control. Hard to concentrate at times. All you can think of is the tension. Always tired. But also an underlying restlessness. Something is missing.
Yet you have your obligations. Bills have to be paid. Work has to be done. Commitments have to be dealt with. You can't just jump off the train. In all the hustle and bustle we may also feel there is an underlying greyness to everyday life.
So perhaps it's your body that starts to talk back: Headaches. Lack of energy. Everything becomes an effort. The new vitamin pills don't seem to do the trick. Too much coffee in the morning. Hard to unwind when you get back home - a drink or two in the evenings don't quite work in the right way either. Perhaps there is a message in all this - telling us that we should change direction in our lives.
Yet changing is not necessarily a simple matter. Maybe we don't even know where to begin. It is in situations like this that Acem Meditation has been found to be a beneficial technique to practice.
Acem Meditation helps you relax, unravel the knots you may be tied in and increase your energy. The daily meditations create a kind of free zone. Twice a day.
Acem Meditation helps you to work through stress and tensions, and develop new perspectives and existential insights, by working through the experiences from the days, weeks and years. Thirty years of experience have shown that Acem Meditation is an effective way to break vicious circles and combat stress; it is a process in which you re-energise and renew yourself. For many the regular practice of Acem Meditation also becomes an important source of self-insight and personal growth.
Acem Meditation is a type of mental activity which can only be learned through practice. It is not something you can acquire through reading. A course in Acem Meditation teaches you how to practice the technique on your own, and how to fit the method into your daily life. After the course, there are many opportunities to follow up and deepen your experience with the method, if you wish to do so.
Some practice Acem Meditation regularly, one half hour every morning and evening. Others use the method during periods when they feel the need.
Acem Meditation originates in Scandinavia. For many Scandinavians, recreation means regularly seeking the silence of nature, usually every weekend, renewing oneself to meet the challenges of everyday life. For Scandinavians, Acem Meditation fits. It's like taking a contemplative walk in the woods twice every day, inside you. No wonder 70,000 people, mostly in Scandinavia, have learned the method.
Acem Meditation - what is it?
Acem Meditation is different
Acem Meditation has been developed in Scandinavia. Ancient insights have been supplemented by modern psychological skills and theory. Traditional teaching methods have been largely supplanted by modern teaching methods and group dynamics. This has increased the potency of meditation, with better effects for the practitioner.
Daily half hours
During the 40 years since Acem was founded, 70,000 people have learned Acem Meditation. For some, the method has been a passing experience. Others have found Acem Meditation to be an effective technique for relaxation, recreation and health. For some, Acem meditation has also become important as a way to find inspiration and stimulate existential reflection on their lives. For most, the daily half-hours of meditation are a habit they very much look forward to.
Relaxation and energy
For the beginner, the most obvious effects of Acem Meditation are relaxation and increased energy. Many find their ability to concentrate increased. Quite a few report improvements of their general well-being. It is now generally accepted that meditation techniques can be an important aid in managing stress, lowering blood pressure and mitigating other undesirable effects of the modern life style. On this level, Acem Meditation has been shown to have good effects on headaches, backaches, insomnia and other stress-related symptoms.
Self-exploration
For the long-term practitioner, the effects of Acem Meditation are even more wide-ranging. Acem's psychological approach stimulates a fascinating process of self-exploration. On this level, Acem Meditation is a way to explore aspects of the unconscious, resulting in a deeper understanding of oneself and the human condition. It is an important source of increased self-awareness and personal growth in an existential sense. It enables you to modify some of your deeper psychological structures, provides a new and more constructive basis for daily life, and helps you to make better use of your potentials.
Easy to learn
Acem Meditation is easy to learn, and involves the repetition of a simple sound. The meditation method enables the mind to express its own needs under conditions of greater inner freedom. The point is not to control your thoughts, but rather the opposite - to let them go. In Acem Meditation, your mind sets its own agenda, which is particularly important when working with unconscious processes. Yet it is an active technique. Nobody influences you. Acem Meditation is something you practice on your own. The results obtained are solely the effects of the quality and length of your own practice of the method - they are not bestowed upon you from the outside - by the grace of God, a guru, spiritual powers, or the like.
Other kinds of meditation
Experienced meditators of all kinds who have turned to Acem Meditation have found that it enhances the long-term effects of meditating regularly.
